Nicky’s second triathlon was in 2003 at the World Triathlon Champs Age Group 20-24 gaining a silver medal and considered changing sports. In 2005 she did just that, throwing away the field hockey stick for a busy last year at the University of Otago finishing her Bachelor of Teaching (secondary) and Bachelor of Physical Education while training for triathlon. Following the completion of her studys at 23years old she accepted an offer from a French Triathlon Team (Parthenay TCG 79) to come and race for them all expenses paid.
