Impairment Details
He lost the use of his legs after a car accident in January 2008. His car broke down and while waiting for assistance a truck crashed into his car.
Reason for taking up this sport
He trained in triathlon for four years before his accident, so he naturally wanted to take up cycling and swimming following rehabilitation.
Ambitions
To compete at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Awards
Alongside his coach Sebastien Travers, they were named as one of 50 athlete and coach pairings to benefit from Suncor Energy’s 2013 Fuelling Athletes and Coaching Excellence programme, which included a CAN$8,000 grant.
He was named the 2010 Male Para Triathlete of the Year by Triathlon Canada.
General
OBJECTIVE RIO 2016
He has an annual fundraising event named Objective Rio 2016 in order to raise funds to compete at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
