I first took up triathlon in 2007, and liked it very much; it has become my passion. I have a family background in sport: my mother swims, and my father is a recreational basketball player. The people who have had the most influence on my sporting career are God, my mother, grandmother, coach, and my state league President (who is my adoptive father).
I currently train in Pereira, and during a typical training week I swim for nine hours, bike for 12.5 hours, and run for seven hours. My personal best swim time (1500m) is 19:25, bike (40km) 57:00, and run (10km) 37:00. I am a participant in the sport development team for the Risaralda triathlon league for 2012 and 2016. My favorite ITU race has been Madrid, because it is well organized, has an excellent talent level, and there are lots of spectators. My triathlon goals are to win an Olympic medal, and to be the best triathlete in the world.
Outside of triathlon, I want to be a professional, have a car, a house, and fame. The biggest obstacle that I have had to overcome is not having a strong relationship with my father.
