Ahead of the pinnacle of the ITU long distance triathlon season in Weihai, China, athletes answer questions from journalists at the World Championships.

Q. Have you ever come to Weihai to join in the Triathlon races?

A. Craig Alexander: “This is my first time to China and Weihai, it is a beautiful city, very pretty, and the course is a challenge. It will test all the athletes, and it will be a great event.

Q. We noticed that this morning the organising committee arranged for you a course familiarisation? What do you of the race course in Weihai?

A. Greg Bennett: “The course is very challenging, very tough, very exciting, very humid. Athletes will know we have done a hard race. It is very tough.”

Q. You have raced many times in China, will this be one of your best and successful competition?

A. Laura Bennett: “The environment in Weihai is essential to us in our competition and riding along the coast, I am very excited to be competing here. This is my 6th competition in China, and I had the opportunity to race in the Beijing Olympics, probably one of my best experiences. So I have fond memories of China, and I want to better my position this time.

Q. Do you have confidence for the gold medal for the Championships this year?

A. Ewa Bugdol: “I don’t think I am the race favourite, but I wish to finish in the top 3.”
