I started playing rugby league at Normanton Knights from the age of 7. I progressed through the age groups and got regional representative honours predominantly at hooker. A big change in position to centre quickly progressed me to professional ranks playing at Dewsbury, Doncaster and Wakefield. Unfortunately my future in rugby league was cut short at the age of 22. 3 ruptured ACLs and 2 reconstructions later it could not be fixed.
At the age of 33 I took part in my first triathlon. It was great to be back in competitive sport having not competed at anything for 11 years. I was instantly hooked.
