A bevy of past and current ITU stars dominated Inside Triathlon magazine’s list of the 15 Greatest Male Triathletes of All-Time.
Two-time World Champion Javier Gomez (ESP) and 2009 Series Champion Alistair Brownlee (GBR) were among the current stars that made the list. Gomez and Brownlee have collectively won the last three World Championships and taken the sport to new heights.
Canadian Simon Whitfield, the 2000 Olympic gold medallist and fellow double Olympic medallist Bevan Docherty (NZL) were also honoured among the all-time triathlon greats. Two-time ITU Triathlon World Cup Series champion Greg Bennett wasn’t forgotten for his achievements, also making the list.
Many ITU champions from the past were also selected by the magazine, including 2004 Olympic champion Hamish Carter (NZL), four-time ITU World Champion Simon Lessing (GBR), six-time ITU Triathlon World Cup winner Craig Walton (AUS), double Olympian Conrad Stoltz (RSA) and 1997 World Champion Chris McCormack (AUS).
