In 2003 Nora fell ill with a rare brain tumour. Its consequences include partial paralysis and loss of balance. Nora now suffers from an impairment of range of motion. Following eight years of recovery from her illness, she first tried para-cycling in 2011 and then turned to triathlon in 2013. Nora was an athlete before her illness and after her recovery she searched for sport opportunities for athletes with impairments.
Nora had an incredible start to her ITU racing career since she started competing in 2014 by taking out five consecutive gold medals. Nora currently trains 20 hours a week at PV Triathlon Witten, Germany.
