My debut triathlon race was OSIM Singapore International triathlon in August, 2009. I was aiming for YOG selection after 18 months of TAS time trials. The people who have had the most influence on my sporting career are my parents; my triathlon coach, Guo Jiao Lian; and swimming coach, Ms. Fan Yu Bo.
I currently train at the East Coast Park & Chinese Swimming Club, and during a typical training week I do 10 hours of swimming, five hours of cycling, and six hours of running. Me personal best swim time (750m) is 10:54, bike (20km) 33:46, and run (5km) 20:30. My favorite ITU race has been the 2010 ITU Premium Asian Cup in Qiandaohu, Hangzhou. I enjoyed it and made a lot of Chinese friends. My triathlon goals are to do a personal best time at the Youth Olympics, and to be within the top 10 out of the 32 countries participating.
The biggest obstacle that I have had to overcome is training seven days a week in preparation for YOG. Something that the triathlon world may not know about me is that I am a bird-lover.
